We offer accessible transportation options designed to support your needs at every step. From public transit to shuttles and on-airport connections, getting around JFK is simple and comfortable.

Accessible public transportation
The AirTrain system is fully ADA-compliant, making it easier for everyone, including those with mobility devices, strollers, or luggage, to travel comfortably and safely.

Accessible parking
Parking spaces for customers with disabilities are available in every parking lot, including near terminal entrances and in the long-term lot near the Howard Beach and Lefferts Boulevard AirTrain JFK stations. Subject to availability. Vehicles must prominently display a non-expired, state-issued ADA license plate, placard, or permit. Violators will be towed. Learn more about Parking at JFK.
A courtesy discount is available to customers with official, non-expired, state-issued ADA license plates, placards, or permits.
- The discount cannot be used with prebooked reservations or E-ZPass payment.
- Do not enter via E-ZPass lanes. You must enter through the ticket lane and pull a ticket.
- Upon exit, press the HELP button to speak with an attendant. They will validate your ADA tag and adjust your fee to reflect the discount.
- The discount applies only after your parking charges exceed $35 per day.
- Charges are incurred in 30-minute increments until the daily maximum is reached.
- ADA accessible spaces can’t be reserved. Premium reserved parking spaces are the next most convenient spaces if all accessible parking spaces are full.
Accessible rental cars, taxis, ride shares, and shuttles

Accessible taxis cost the same as regular ones —they’ll have a wheelchair symbol on the vehicle.
Ride Share Apps
Many ride-share apps—including Uber, Lyft, and others—offer options to request accessible vehicles. These may include cars with wheelchair ramps, extra space, or other features to support mobility needs. In most apps, you can filter for accessible rides right in the settings or ride request screen. Customers with accessibility needs using ride-share apps can still be picked up and dropped off curbside, even when remote ride-share lot operations are in effect.
Shuttles
If you prefer a shuttle, accessible airport shuttles are also available. These services can be arranged in advance and are a great option for travelers who need extra support or space. To make sure your accessible ride is ready when you are, it’s best to book at least 24 hours ahead.
