Car Rentals

Our car rental partners are conveniently located at Federal Circle.

Federal Circle is accessible by the AirTrain from any terminal or from the Jamaica and Howard Beach AirTrain Stations. AirTrain rides between terminals and Federal Circle are free. The fare for trips originating or terminating at Jamaica and Howard Beach AirTrain stations is $8.75 per person. Children under five can ride AirTrain free of charge. You can also reach Federal Circle by hotel shuttle.

You can reserve a rental car from one of the available rental car companies in advance online or check out what is available once you arrive. To pick up your rental, take AirTrain to the car rental center at the Federal Circle Station opens in a new tab.

When you're ready to return your rental car, enter “Federal Circle Station opens in a new tab” in your GPS for directions to the car rental center. Remember to refuel your car before returning it. There are gas stations conveniently located within two miles of the airport and at the "JFK Airport Travel Plaza opens in a new tab" for your refueling needs.

After you drop off your rental, take the AirTrain to reach your designated terminal to catch your flight.

New York State tolls have switched to cashless tolling, which means you will be billed electronically. Be sure to check with your rental car agency to learn about their toll payment policy. Some companies provide E-ZPass® transponder tags. If they provide you with a transponder, make sure you understand how it works, including any fees and charges. The rental company may also charge an administrative fee for using a toll road.

If your rental car company does not provide a transponder, or if you do not want to use a rental car company tag, you have two options:

• “Pay by plate” and the rental company will bill you later
• Pay the toll using your own E-ZPass® transponder

If you decide to use your own transponder, do not add the rental car license plate to your account.
