Taxis to and from JFK Airport

info

Taxi pick-ups and drop-offs may take longer than usual due to construction at JFK. Plan accordingly and allow for extra time. During this period we recommend taking Public Transportation to the airport.

Before you drive off, make sure you won't get ripped off

If you accept a ride from a fraudulent driver you will get ripped off and scammed. Go to the official pick up areas for authorized vehicles such as yellow cabs, Ubers or Lyfts.

Taxi fares between JFK Airport and Manhattan

For your convenience, taxis from JFK to Manhattan have a flat rate of $70, plus tolls, tip, and $2.75-$8.50 in additional fees which vary by time of day and destinations. The meter and receipt will show this fixed price.

Flat Fare Policy: If passengers ask the driver to stop at more than one stop within Manhattan, the flat fare policy applies to the first stop. After that, the meter will start a new trip, which will incur additional costs above the $70 and fees. There are no extra charges for these trips for peak times or night.

Taxi safety tips

Ignore offers of transportation from solicitors in the terminal. Soliciting of ground transportation is illegal and many illegal solicitors are unlicensed and uninsured. For official help, please go to the Port Authority Welcome Center in the arrivals area of each terminal or to an official taxi stand.
